Cheap Travel in Las Vegas: Must-go and Instagrammable Places for Just One Day(Safe for the Pandemic)

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

Hey, this is Sunny.

Which word will jumped out of your mind if you hear Las Vegas? Mine is gambling! What about yours?

I traveled to Las Vegas during the pandemic (Jun 24, 2020), and I would like to share a good plan to enjoy your time but also stay safe. Spend the money that we should spend but not extra. This is my principle. If you are the same as me, I hope this travel guide will be helpful to you.

Remember to wear masks properly, wash your hands and stay 6 feet away!

Must-go and Instagrammable places:

1. Seven Magic Mountains (Free)

Before you go to Las Vegas, I think seven magic mountains is a good destination first. Even the name is so romantic and magic. Believe it or not, your photos here will be stunning. Just imagine that stones with super vivid colors pile up in the desert. It’s really cool!

2. Las Vegas Sign (Free)

Las Vegas is definitely a fabulous place.

There is a big sign, which says “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas”, so put on some colorful clothes and get ready for your wonderful photos.

Welcome to Fabulous LAS VEGAS: Jun 24, 2020

3. Las Vegas Strip (My favorite part, I wandered the whole afternoon) (Free)

*Pictures and videos were all taken by me on Jun 24, 2020.

As you get into Las Vegas, you will be surprised by how beautiful the buildings are. Actually, they are hotels, but each hotel has his own theme. You can tell the theme just from the name.

  • Caesars

  • Paris Las Vegas

  • New York New York

  • Luxor

This background makes me feel like I am a princess in a palace.

  • Circus

  • MGM (I stayed here, so the experience related to hotel is just based on this single place)

  • Palazzo

  • Wynn

  • Bellagio

  • Flamingo

etc...

These buildings are so beautiful! You can just wander along the street and also take a look at inside. Even just take a walk here can make my day brighter.

🌟Gambling Time (cost depends on individuals)

The important part is coming. There is casino in each hotel. You can just walk inside. Remember to bring your ID or passport with you if you want to gamble or just watch. The staff will need to check your age in case that you are under 21.

*Casino inside the MGM Hotel

There are 2 main parts in the casino; one is gambling with machines, and the other one is gambling with dealers or other players. It’s really fun. Try your luck and stop at a suitable time. Regard it just as an entertainment!

If you gamble with people, you could order the alcohol with brand of choice for free, but you need to tip the waiters. (I got Margarita, but I didn't tell which brand of tequila, so they normally give the most inexpensive one. You can tell them your preference, so they will customize for you)

If you don’t know how to gamble, there are a lot of different games; choose one table that attract to you and the dealer will teach you. Don’t take it too seriously. There is wining and losing all the time, just like life.

🌟Pool time: (Usually open to the customers of the hotel)

There are several pools in one hotel. It’s up to you to go or not during the pandemic. It’s like a small party 🎉 Few people are in the pool.

🥘 Buffet (cost depends on individuals):

For meals, you can not miss the buffet in Las Vegas! When I went there, the buffet should be made an appointment because of Covid. However, it seems buffet doesn't allowed anymore during this time, so you’d better do some research about it.

4. Bellagio Fountain Show (Free)

In the evening , I recommend you to go to see the fountain show in front of the Bellagio. It’s after 7 pm every 30 mins during the pandemic(check first).

Music, breeze and sounds of water make people really relaxed.

5. The High Roller (30-40 dollars)

Then you could ride the ferris wheel to get an overview of the whole night scene of Las Vegas. (Pandemic note: It’s limited number of people can go one space, and the space is big enough to keep social distance)

This is the highest wheel in the world. The ticket is around 30-40 dollars. Go with your friends, family or date, it’s really romantic and don’t forget make a wish at the highest point.
